Results of the Sentinel Literary
Quarterly Poetry & Short Story Competitions January 2010
The results of our January 2010 Poetry
and Short Story Competitions have been announced.
Sentinel Literary Quarterly Poetry
This competition was judged by Munayem
Mayenin, editor of Poets' Letter Magazine and Festival
Director, London Poetry Festival.
Unfortunately, Mr Mayenin sent in the
results of the competition without a Judge's report due to
pressures of time.
The winners of the January Poetry
Competition are as follows:
"South and West"
by Paul Jeffcutt.
The Highly Commended Entries are:
"Untitled: It is not sleek and smooth"
by Neil Bowie
"Aiming to Miss" by Jonathan Child
"Best" by Charles Evans
"Henry's Gone" by Will Daunt
"Night Shift" by Vanessa Young
Sentinel Literary Quarterly Short
This competition was judged by Unoma
Azuah, the award-winning author of Sky-High Flames and
emerged with this result.
First Prize: "Unmusical Bumps"
by Andrew Campbell-Kearsey
Second Prize: "Demons" by Claire
Third Prize: "Diluted Cappuccino"
by Andrew Campbell-Kearsey.
It is always interesting when a judge,
reading blind without any information on the writers choose
the same author for more than one prize in a competition.
