AE: What do you think of writing programs that now proliferate, especially, the Western Academy.

 

 AA: They are a useful way of providing training and employment for the writing community. Yes, they can become places for cloning particular tendencies in writing and, yes, they provide the tools but not the talent for a writer or would-be writer. But they are here to stay and it must be said that there are some really good teachers and useful programs out there.

 

 AE: Thank you for very much for your time. And we look forward to your new collection of poems.
