SPIRIT IMMERSED
(For Nkosi)

Sing me this song before
Just like will after
I am gone to the cool
Give attention with no lyrics
Just before you come to me.
Breathe in words of a songless song
Then become visible to my sight
A presenter and holder of a sinecure.
Gift of voiceless words, chimerical
For, I know, my ear; just only
Immerse I in this soundless cavity,
So unique, special, special
I hunger again for this song
That flows upturn in a spiral.
Start at the sole of my feet,
And clad my naïve nudity.
Intensify my spirituality
So that at the end of this song
And in my wake,
After you had come
Eagerly,
I will sing me this song
Where peace reigns.
