CONTEMPORARY NIGERIAN LITERATURE SHOWCASE" AT THE MUSE APPRENTICE GUILD (the m.a.g.)Next Page
There are many wonderful writers of Nigerian origin writing today within and outside the country. But with many of these writers self-publishing, or being published by publishing houses without strong and effective promotional and marketing budgets and programmes, only a handful of these writers get the exposure they deserve. August Highland, the publisher and editor of Muse Apprentice Guild wants to do something about it.
The Muse Apprentice Guild (m.a.g) plans a showcase for contemporary Nigerian literature in the fall issue (November) of the m.a.g. with an introduction by Nnorom Azuonye, Founding Editor of Sentinel Poetry Magazine, author of Letter To God and Other Poems and member of the m.a.g Advisory Crew.
The m.a.g. has an annual readership of two million and presents a big opportunity to put new Nigerian writing on show for a world audience. The editor will accept poetry, fiction and dramatic works of any length and there is no limit to the number of works that a writer can submit.
Writers need to email their submissions as attachments (rtf, doc, wpd) and include a bio ideally the muse apprentice guild wants to present the work in both the original language with English translation - but English only is fine - the original language untranslated is completely acceptable too and even encouraged.
The level of success of this online feature may result in a print anthology of contemporary Nigerian writing.
If you would like to have your work featured in this showcase, please send your work no later than October 15, 2003 to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com in the subject line of your submission, type: Nigerian Literature Showcase.
