THE FIDDLE PLAYS

Buried in books
of leisure,
a life and time
in second hand
measure.

Brushed aside
world at large
the grace of God
has kept me
a part.

With grasses
of Kentucky green
boarded houses
and skeletal remains
the fiddle plays..
the fiddle plays.....

throughout the night
the fiddle plays.
