Christopher ! Warrior poet !
The flutes play loud with a commotion of drums

And the great mask answers the elephant call
But it is a theater of very strange shadows

Masks over men and men over masks
The wail of women in demon parturitions

With babies lost in daily dragon dreams
Where the python locks sunset and sunrise

In a twist of things beyond all medicines
Beyond the suns eye and the smile of moons

Christopher ! Warrior poet !
Blessed with the power of the water of Idoto

I cry for the albumen of yellow virgin fronds
For this prison of fire and unnameable steam

Our world is now a pitiful weakling
It groans with the burden of an elephant corpse !
