SUBSTANCE OF MY DREAM

Somewhere deep in my heart
There is this pain
This soft, soft pain
That no balm
Only the tenderness
Of your touch
Can soothe
I feel like one
Immersed in peaceful waters
And the ripples, my world
Growing, growing to contain
This feeling I have for you
Each wave
Arising from that core
That sensitive core, in my heart
Where you have built a home
Fills the times
With the music of life
And the rhythms
Will sound for time eternal
I see the truth in us
There can be no reality
Besides you and I
For even my fantasy
Is hinged on this
Through you I've come to know
The reason that I am
I've come to understand the flowers,
The rainbows, the warm springs
The mountains, the oceans
And the ripples, my world
Growing, growing to contain
This feeling I have for you
And if this be love,
Let it be the substance of my dream
