Poems

REBECCA STELTNER

DAS GROSSE SOMMERVERGESSEN

wind spült gedanken fort
laufe nicht hinterher
nicht jetzt
denn vor hitze
singt der boden
ein klingen und klirren
alte träume
heben die möwe empor.

SUMMER FORGETTING

Wind flushes thoughts away
don't run after them
not now
that the ground
is humming with heat
clanging and tinkling
old dreams
buoy up the gull.
