SONG FOR SOULS

Souls have been betrayed
for wishes that strayed

Souls have been oppressed
for opinions expressed

Souls have been guillotined
and their freedom purloined

Souls have been kicked
for injustices they'd not licked

Souls have drunk the gall
for refusing to play the ball

Hopes have been betrayed
on the day they had craved

Comrades who'd been smitten
your causes will not be forgotten.
