Hopefully, the New Year has not taken you by surprise, and you have had sufficient time to make a resolution to write your best poetry in 2004, but what is more, to write even better poetry in the years to follow.
In this first issue of Sentinel for the year, for your appreciation and enjoyment are the poems of David E. Howerton, Obe Mata, Josef Lesser, Dike Okoro, Adeiza Atureta, John Thomson, and Duane Locke. To skip the rest of this welcome message and read this month's magazine, please use the links on the right of this page or click here>>>
This is a good time to make fresh calls for poems on the theme of love for the Valentine Month Special (February 2004). If you love anything -- be it a human being, an animal, a car, or even an old torn pair of trousers in your wardrobe -- write a poem about that feeling and send it in for the Valentine Month Special Edition of this magazine due to go live on the 1st of February 2004. Submission Deadline for the February Issue is January, 15th, 2004. Submissions
Talking about that February 2004 Issue, I can confirm that our Guest Poet for that month will be Lola Shoneyin--author of "So All The Time I Was Sitting On An Egg" and "Song Of A Riverbird."
Enjoy Sentinel #14 and Have a prosperous New Year.
Best Wishes
Nnorom Azuonye Editor
