Peter Olorunisomo

Peter is a poet, playwright, essayist, director, Broadcaster (The Platform Sky TV 593) and a Consultant on management. He was employed in the Presidency, Office of the Head of Service, Nigeria where he held a number of sensitive appointments in the Federal Civil Service as Personal/Special Assistant to Permanent Secretaries in the Presidency, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Federal Capital Territory; and finally the Ministry of Finance.


He wrote his first play (A Clash of Gods) at the age of fifteen for a drama competition in Lagos state and has since written Nutshells. He has three compilations of poetry titled A Snake in the King's Palace (2005) (serialised in the magazine TOZALI the eyeliner, Nig., Miffed (2007), and Poetosophy (2008).
 

His published short stories include Dying Saints and The Salt Dissolves (NIGERIA monthly), The Mill Bloxham story (Abuja Today). Directed Man Talk, Woman Talk, Jongbo, (Nig.) and co-ordinated The Meeting (Warehouse Theatre), staged DARTS. He has performed at a number of Arts Festivals including South Norwood and Streatham's and featured in Black History Month celebrations for Thurrock and Croydon Councils. Has written for tabloids in Arts in Nigeria and the UK: Abuja Today and the African Spirit International. Recently honoured with an award for his support and contributions to the Arts and Nigerian students by the Xn Foundation/University of Kent.
