Derek Sellen
Derek
Sellen lives, writes and teaches in Canterbury. In addition to
poetry he also writes plays and short stories and his story 'Angel
and Assassin' won second prize in the Bristol International Short
Story competition. His poems have been widely published and have won
awards or been commended in national and international competitions,
including the National Poetry Competition, Rhyme International and
Poetry on the Lake. Most recently, a sequence of poems written as
responses to Spanish art – 'A Guide to the Spanish Painters' –
has been included in the anthology 'Kaleidoscope' (Cinnamon Press
2011) and in 2009 a selection of his poems, 'The Arch and its
Shadow', was published.
