Sentinel Poetry Movement was founded on December 1, 2002 by Nnorom Azuonye. The vision of the movement is to build the world's premier community of writers and artists from all backgrounds, nationalities, race, religion, gender, age, sexuality, political or ideological affiliation.

It is our dream to build a community where established writers and artists in the nascent stages of their development could interact either through our unmoderated open forums, or through our members-only Poetry Bar. 

In addition to these interactive forums, SPM Publications - the publishing arm of Sentinel Poetry Movement publishes Sentinel Literary Quarterly; an online magazine of world literature and art. Sentinel Literary Quarterly is an amalgamation of previous publications by Sentinel i.e Sentinel Poetry (Online) and Sentinel Poetry Quarterly (Print).

From time to time, we hold a live reading event to bring our members together.
