Daniel GodstonLocal, Federal, & International Trade
Children move ships out of harbours with their minds. Mail carriers deliver bundled laments and incantations,
birds move twigs and twine to the tallest trees’ highest branches, monks and nuns send out prayers, mice trade holes for scurrying,
& shadows trade secrets about light. Rivers trade eddies for pebbles, mountains trade runoff for ravines, clocks trade hours
for minutes, visionaries trade ideas for gumption, lovers trade breath for beauty, & we are trading looks for sounds as our heartbeats
trade movement for accent, as our bodies trade sensations for impressions, as our minds trade ideas for intuition. |
