THE NIGHT DANCED AWAY

Out of the face of dead skin

rhythm oozed through frolicsome night

when drummers’ fingers nicely struck

the hide in disciplined regularity

cesspool of lovers suddenly burst

into a brook of gamboling bodies

twisting, rolling, swinging, swirling,

caught within compass of choreographic chemistry

sound led souls into slavery of tune

moves, drumbeats, synchronously eventuating

but wriggling free of my lonely realm

my feet yielded to beckoning beats, and

in solitude the night danced away.
