Obododimma Oha
Desire
Dawn still at the doorpost, wandering If the house desires the broom
Silhouettes of receding memories Follow the long shadows To the arms of chi-na-agu waiting
And the portals await mortals Ndi-biara-ije-nwe-ula Who desire to forget to remember
The self-within-the-self The self seeking the Word The Word of the spirit touching the silences
There are songs you can no longer sing Games you can no longer play Names you can no longer utter When the house finds the broom…
We wrestle against the hand That pulls the plumage For the red afternoons
